Doctors removed the splint on Monday from Howie Kendrick's left index finger.
Kendrick has been on the DL since July 9 with his second fractured finger of the season. He also suffered a non-displaced fracture of the middle finger of his left hand on April 17 when he was hit by a pitch by Oakland's Chad Gaudin.
He's joined the club feeling better about his chances of getting back on the field, perhaps within the next two weeks if all goes well.
