A second X-ray of Howie Kendrick 's left index finger Friday revealed a small fracture, an injury that sent the Angels second baseman to the disabled list for the second time this season.
The finger was placed in a splint, and Kendrick was ordered to rest for at least 10 days, at which point another X-ray will be taken.
No timetable was set for his return. Kendrick wrenched the index finger on his left hand 10 days ago during the Angels'series in Texas. He tried to play through it, but made only one appearance last weekend in New York when a small fracture was detected by X-rays.
Kendrick missed five weeks earlier this season with a broken bone in his left hand suffered when he was hit by a pitch.
Look for the Angels to call up Brandon Wood.
