Ramon Ortiz back to form. Ortiz got shelled today in a matchup against Cleveland's Paul Byrd. Ortiz game up 6 earned runs in 1+ innings. After starting the season 3-0, Ortiz has lost 4 straight and has given up 15 earned runs in his last 11 innings.

Paul Byrd out duels Ortiz. Byrd gave up 5 earned runs in 7 innings for the win against Ortiz. Byrd's record is now 3-1 with a 3.49 era.

Jarrod Washburn gets revenge. Washburn pitched 8 scoreless innings for the Mariners against the Yankees last Saturday. A week earlier in a game at Yankee Stadium, Washburn was criticized for intentionally hitting Josh Phelps.

Jeff Weaver finally sent to the DL. We knew it was right shoulder tendinitis all along. In 6 starts for Seattle, Weaver was 0-6 with a 14.32 era.

Derrick Turnbow has lost 2 games in a row. Entering Monday's game against Philadelphia, Turnbow had a 1.76 era in 16 appearances for the Brewers. On Monday, he gave up 4 runs in 2/3 of an inning. Tuesday he was in again and surrendered a walk off solo home run to Carlos Ruiz. His era is up to 4.24.
