Angels baseball postseason ticket lottery begins Sept. 5
ANAHEIM -- The Angels, in the midst of the American League West Division title race, today announced the launch of an online lottery system designed to give fans the opportunity to buy tickets for potential 2007 Angels postseason games at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Registration for the on-line lottery, which will be run through www.angelsbaseball.com, will begin Wednesday, Sept. 5th. This announcement was made by Angels' President Dennis Kuhl.
The Angels Postseason Ticket Lottery consists of a separate random drawing for each potential playoff round (American League Division Series, American League Championship Series and World Series) and applies to only games played at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Winners of the lottery will be randomly selected by MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM). Those individuals selected will be eligible to purchase up to four (4) tickets in the round in which they were selected. There will be no tickets available for sale on site at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, the Angels' Ticketmaster charge line or any Ticketmaster Ticket Center.
"We believe this MLB-sponsored lottery system affords our fans an equal chance to acquire tickets throughout postseason play," said Kuhl.
In order to register for the Angels Postseason Ticket Lottery, fans must sign up by filling out the online form completely on www.angelsbaseball.com, beginning Wednesday, Sept. 5th. There is a limit of one entry per person per household. Fans only need to register one time and their one-time registration will enter them into the lotteries for all three rounds. Fans selected in the lottery will be notified by email and available tickets may be purchased on a first come, first served basis within a limited time frame. The opportunity to purchase tickets is non-transferable and tickets can only be purchased via a valid credit card.
Registration for the ALDS lottery closes at noon on Friday, Sept. 14th. However, fans that did not register for the ALDS may still continue to sign up for additional potential series until Oct. 5th. Single game ticket sales for the Angels' possible participation in the ALCS and World Series will be conducted in the same manner from the same pool of on-line registrants. The deadline for the ALCS lottery registration is noon on Sept. 24th. Registration for the World Series lottery closes at noon on Oct. 5th.
